M10 Samurai School

This week I am going to Japan to attend Samurai school. I don't know what to expect exactly because I don't know much about samurai, but it will be a adventure! My teacher just walked in.
"Good mourning class, today we will be learning writing and literature. As a samurai you will be expected to be students of culture and warriors." He said in a simple voice. "First we will be learning calligraphy, the art of writing. Take out your brushes and ink." I shuffled through my bag and found the materials. I quickly put them on the table and waited for more instructions.
"Dip the brush in lightly and make a strait vertical line. Now make a horizontal line in the center. from the right side, where the corers on the bottom are draw a curved line. And do the same on the other side. This is calligraphy for tree." The class owwed and awwed. "For the end of this lesson we are going to learn how to write a haiku poem. A haiku has 3 lines of 5,7,and 5 syllables. Write one about nature now."  For a while you  could hear ink dripping and scratching.  "That is all for this lesson see you tomorrow!" The teacher said and waved everybody goodbye.
The next day I walked in and my teacher was sitting on the floor with his eyes closed. I didn't know what to do, so I stood awkwardly in the door. Soon all the students showed up and the teacher awoke in his trance.
"Good mourning class, today wee will be learning the form of Zen. Zen emphasis on effort and discipline. When you came in, I was meditating. Trying to reach enlightenment. Sit legs crossed on the floor. Place your hand where ever, and don't move."
I tried to stay still, but I'm always moving. I peaked open my eye to see other struggling with this to. It felt like hours trying to stay still, then finally it came over me. I finally felt calm, and focused. We did this for days. Just sitting still and breathing. When it was nice, we went out into the garden to help us get calm. One day the teacher taught us about konas. He said if we wish to become enlightened we have to give up logical thinking. He asked up "What is the sound of one hand clapping?"
I went to school for months, but then I got my next mission. Samari school was fun. I even learned the sixth sense.  Now I can feel when danger is around me. I didn't like the was i learned it though. The teacher went aroung wuith a stick and smacked us when we were not expecting it. This was a fun mission! <3 <3 <3

M9

I am now traveling to Japan. Prince Shotoku was emperor since 593. This a man who made the Japans culture possible He has sent me on a journey to china to bring back achievements and tech them to him. So ow i'm on my way to china.

When i got to china, I herd... music? I fallowed the sound and found a few men playing interments. Flutes, and pipes. Even drums. I took note of what they looked like and how the men played them. They I swam back to Japan to tell Prince Shotoku.

Japan is many island made up into one, so its almost broken. This makes it hard for the Prince to control all of japan. When I told him about the music, he got his builders right on it. I helped him with the design to.

I got a job teaching people how to play the interments.  I even showed the Prince. Now he is a master at the flute. Now when Japan had party's, they play music and it becomes even more fun! It feels good to know i make a difference.

I heading back home. The prince even gave me some wind pipes to keep me busy. I have made many friends since joining TTI, and i have helped many others. I hope I will meet even more people next mission!

M8 The Americas

For this mission I'm visiting the Americas. I have been researching The Americas and it turns out, they have  a difficult marriage arrangement. First the grooms family hires a matchmaker, or atanzahab, and they go find a bride and interview her. Once the  matchmaker finds a girl that fits the groom's parent's needs, they meet and talk about their kids. If the grooms family likes the brides family, they will get married. Lucky for me, I have been arranged to be a atanzahab, let the fun begin!

"So what do you want your son's wife to have?" I asked a lovely couple. I was surprised to not see the groom their.
"We want her to be rich. And loyal, and pretty." The mom stated saying. "And be able to cook."
"She needs to be healthy, and want children." Said the dad.
"That is all for now, we will let you know if we think of anything else." The mother told me.
"Umm, OK I will get strait to work." I said and rushed off into the village.

I interviewed what seemed like 100 girls, but same weren't able to cook, some were not rich, some looked like they were going to die. Their was one i have not meet yet.
"Excuse me mind if I ask you a few questions?" I asked  her.
"Sure, I don't mind."  She said. I asked all the questions the grooms family gave me, and she got all of them. I set up an interview with the parents and then I left to go tell the groom.

In the meeting sesion, I could not tell if the parents liked each other. They all had a poker face on. The parents agreed to marry the son and daughter. I felt happy that I made this happen. They even invited me to the wedding.

The wending was grate, both the family's said thank you to me. The bride and groom look happy together, even if they couldn't chose for them selves. I  Think i'm going to return to my own time now, where i know i can make my own choices.

M7

In my last mission I went on a safari of Egypt. Today, I am going farther west into Africa and meeting up with a few friends from a long time ago. I'm hoping it will go as planed, but if I know anything about time travel, it's that you never know what to expect. I decided to keep my camel, I bonded with him during the tour of Egypt. If we go to a place with out deserts I'm going to have to leave him here.

"Aria! How nice to see you! Are you well?" Shakir asked me. Shakir is a North African name meaning 'thankful'. She was my grate, grate, grate, grate, grate, grate, grandmothers friend. Story's of there childhood were passed down from generation to generation.
"Yes very well, how about yourself?" I said. It was nice to talk to a friend and not need to make new ones.
"Oh, well we are trying to get by. It's hard to raise 4 children by myself." She said with a sigh. Shakir lost her husband 2 years ago. "Well, what do you feel like doing today?" She asked me.
"Why don't we take the kids out somewhere, just to walk around." I mentioned.
"Ok, ill go get my stuff."

We walked around the town looking at the wonderful art, and hearing the music. I felt a hand on my leg.
"Abi! Abi! Hurry, its about to start! Hurry, hurry!" A small child was tugging at my hand.
"Whats about to start?" I asked.
"The story telling! You are telling the story of why Anansi has 8 thin legs!" She screamed. Story telling dose sound fun. I think i'll make this work.

The little girl puled me through the crowds of people and sat me on a wooden stool. The music came to a stop, and I thought of what the story would be.
"One upon a time, long ago, there lived a...a spider named Anansi. Anansi's wife was a very good cook, but her still liked eating his other friends food to. One day he stopped by his good friends Rabat's house.Rabbit was cooking beans and Anansi wanted some. The beans were not done yet, so Anansi suggested that he would give rabbit a rope, and one side would be tied to his leg. When the beans were done, Rabbit would pull on the rope and so Anansi would know when to come. Anansi visited several other friends. Each one making new food that was not done yet. Anansi had one rope tied to each leg. When Anansi was walking home, one of his ropes started to pull, then another, then another! Soon Anansi's legs were getting so stretched out, the ropes snapped and Anansi had 8 thin legs. The End."

The crowed applaud and I felt good that I helped bring smiles to the kids faces. Shakir came up to me and said that all the kids loved the story. I helped her get them all home, and them I left to go back home. I think this was a mission gone well.

M6 Egypt Safari :)

I'm on my way to Egypt now. It's going to be pretty easy to get there because its along the Red sea, and the Mediterranean sea. Issa let me have a camel which they call the "Ship of the desert" because they can go through ocean's of sand. I thought it would be best, camels can survive weeks with out food or water. When they have a chance to drink water, they fill up. Camels can drink 25 gallons of water with out stopping. Camels can also carry up to 500 pounds for 30 miles.
I saw some mountains up ahead and decided to check them out. Inside there was a large cave. I picked up a rock and threw it in the cave to see how far it went. I didn't here it hit anything, but i did hear...flapping?
All of a sudden a big swarm of bats flew out of the cave. I quickly hid behind the cave. When the sound was far far away, i sneaked a peek in the cave. There was a little mouse getting up from a good nights sleep. He was brown, and blended well with the landscaping. When he saw me, the little mouse scurried away.
My camel and I continued are safari through Egypt near some nice trees. They were all spaced out, I could not tell if it was a forest or not. We ended up on the coast of the Red Sea. I was inspecting a salt water mangrove. A tree that grows partly under water and partly above the surface. I was also looking at a coral reef under the banks of the Red Sea. It looked like its been there for EVER. I could tell because I was watching old polyps die and new ones attach to the skeletons. I could have sat here for days, but then my stomach growled.
We wandered around Egypt in search of food. Soon, we came to the Nile. There were Date, citrus, pomegranate, and  apricot trees. We settled under a eucalyptus tree, it provided good shade and smelled like menthol cough drops. I saw a ibis dive down to the Nile and grab a fish. It quickly grabbed it and flew off. In the birds tight grip, I saw the fish flop around like a buffoon. After a while I decided to continue my safari.
It looked like sun down. I did not feel tired, but my camel started to slow down. We rested by the delta. I woke to the sound of a...snake? I sat strait up. It was a snake! But it was not looking at me. No, it was looking at a big cat. It looked like a big tabby cat, only the tail was shorter and thicker. I jumped as it lunged for the snake, After a while, the wild cat left with the big snake in mouth. This place was a little to violent for my taste. I woke my camel and we went to go sleep, in the bats cave. :)

M5 SALT!!

After my last mission in the dessert, i decided to go back home to sleep in my own bed for a while. As much as I love time traveling, It's nice to have a break. I was almost asleep when; Bing! Bing! Bing! The worlds most annoying ring tone. "Shut up!" I yell to it thinking it would stop. I groaned and fell out of bed. My phone read:
Get to West Africa...NOW
Being the stubborn person I am, I turned off my phone and laid back in bed. It didn't take long before my phone turned on a gain and transported me to Africa. Perfect.
"Excuse me child." Someone said behind my back. I jumped up, scared. "I mean you no harm, I was just wondering how you got your fingers...colored!" I looked down.
"You mean my nail polish?" I asked her. I did it a few days ago and it still had its luster.
"Is that what it's called? I never heard of such a thing. Please child, come to my home. It gets dangerous out here at night" She took my hand and studied it as we walked. I saw the big gates leading to something. The woman opened them, and I saw a town that looked abandoned. "My home!" She yelled.
"Issa? Is that you?" I heard another voice say. Then I saw a lady who looked badly hert.
"What happened here?" Issa asked the lady. Her eyes filling with tears.
"Invaders, they took it all." She replied. "They left all the salt though."
"Ok, pack all the salt up. Me and the girl will go in to the city and trade for food and water. Keep the people calm. We will be back shortly." Issa told her. Then she terned to me. "What is your name child?"
"Aria...How are we going to get food and water for salt?" I asked her.
"Never underestimate the power of trading.
It felt like hours walking from city to city. "Here we are." Issa said. She lead me into a huge market. It was crowded and everyone was shouting. I helped Issa stack large box's on top of each other. She climbed to the top and started yelling. "SALT...SALT...SALT OR FOOD SALT FOR WATER" Soon there was a long line of sellers waiting to trade salt for meat and water and veggies. At the end of the day we had months worth of food. The bad news was, we had to carry it all back.
I could barley see the city now. My arms were sore and my feet were about to fall off. Then Issa tured. "Uh Oh" She said. "Invaders on the horizon. They were all in black, running tords us. About a mile away. No time to run. I saw the Red sea nearby I consecrated and the water started to shake, then rise. It needed 1 final ingredient. I lifted my arms up and toward the invaders and the river washed toward them. In a few seconds they were wiped out.
"Run!" I yelled to Issa. We hurried to the city and gave the water and food to the villagers. Issa's family welcomed me and let me stay in their hose. They taught me about trading and how to live in Africa. They said I could stay as long as I wanted as long as I went on each tradeing trip. I agreed and they found me a room and I had a full nights sleep.
